During your first session, you and your therapist will spend time getting to know each other. You'll share your story and start to build a trusting relationship. This initial meeting is often referred to as an intake session.
By the end of the first session, you should have a clearer understanding of how therapy works, feel a connection with your therapist, and have an initial plan for moving forward. Remember, it’s perfectly normal to feel a mix of emotions after your first session, but taking this step is a powerful move towards growth and healing.
As you continue with therapy, each session will build on the previous ones, providing a space for deeper exploration and growth.
