Find the therapist who fits what you’re carrying.
At The Art Room, we are a neuro-affirming, trauma-effective art therapy practice offering care that honors your nervous system, identity, and lived experience. Each clinician brings their own specialties, style, and perspective within that shared foundation.
You do not need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before reaching out. You do not need to have the perfect words. This page is here to help you get a clearer sense of who might be the best fit for you, your teen, or your family.
No art experience required. In-person in Hagerstown and virtual across Maryland.

Who we work with
Our clinicians support a wide range of experiences, with particular focus on grief across the spectrum, ambiguous loss, trauma, late-diagnosed neurodivergence, masking, intersectional identity, and neurodivergent tweens, teens, and young adults with big emotions.

Whether you are processing a major life shift, making sense of yourself through a new lens, carrying a grief that feels hard to explain, or looking for support for a young person who feels everything intensely, we want therapy to feel more human, more collaborative, and more tailored to what is actually going on.

Claire Kalala

For late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults, trauma, masking, burnout, and intersectional identity
Claire works with adults who have spent years adapting, over-functioning, or masking to get by and are now asking deeper questions about authenticity, identity, and healing. Her work is especially resonant for late-diagnosed or questioning neurodivergent adults, clients navigating complex trauma and chronic survival stress, and people exploring the impact of intersectional identity and belonging.

Lauren Parks

For grief across the spectrum, ambiguous loss, diagnosis-related grief, trauma, and identity reconstruction
Lauren supports adults carrying grief that may not fit neatly into other people’s definitions, including ambiguous loss, trauma-related grief, and the emotional aftermath of a child’s diagnosis. She also works with men and with clients navigating trauma, attachment wounds, and the process of rebuilding a sense of self after life has changed.

Madison Harlow

For neurodivergent tweens, teens, and young adults with big emotions, overwhelm, and identity questions
Madison works with young people who feel deeply, get overwhelmed quickly, struggle to put words to what is happening inside, or need a more affirming space to explore who they are. Her work is especially strong for neurodivergent tweens, teens, and young adults needing support with emotional regulation, self-expression, and growing up in a world that often misunderstands them.

Not sure who is the best fit?
That is completely okay. You do not need to figure it out alone. Start with a free 15-minute consultation, and we will help you think through which clinician may be the best match based on what you are carrying, what kind of support you are looking for, and who on our team feels most aligned.
