Parenting can be full of questions: What does my child need from me right now? Why are they reacting this way? Am I responding in a way that helps them feel safe and secure?
Circle of Security® Parenting™ (COSP) is an eight-week, video-based parenting program designed to help parents and caregivers better understand children’s emotional needs and strengthen connection within the parent-child relationship.
Based on decades of attachment research, COSP helps caregivers understand the attachment system and recognize what children are communicating through their emotions and behaviors. Rather than focusing simply on changing a child’s behavior, COSP looks beneath the behavior to explore what a child may be needing and how caregivers can respond with connection, curiosity, and support.
Through guided videos, discussion, reflection, and supportive group conversation, caregivers will explore how to:

Support their child’s ability to manage and express emotions

Build security, confidence, and self-esteem

Respond to their child with greater understanding and connection

Recognize their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences that can influence parenting

Feel more confident navigating the ups and downs of the parent-child relationship
COSP is not about finding the “perfect” parenting strategy or following a strict set of rules. Instead, it provides a framework for understanding attachment and a space to reflect on your own parenting experience, both past and present. Caregivers are invited to learn, ask questions, and grow alongside others who are navigating the joys and challenges of parenting.
Circle of Security® Parenting™ was developed for caregivers of children from birth through age 5, but the principles of attachment and secure relationships can be meaningful for caregivers of children of all ages.
